Wie fangen ich an ? Normalerweise ist keiner von uns eine Person vieler Worte (auch wenn das folgende Buch etwas anders implizieren könnte). Weder sind wir Schriftsteller noch haben wir irgend eine intention mit diesem Regelwerk Geld zu verdienen. Dieses Buch ist unsere Art Danke zu sagen an eine tolle comunity. Selbstverständlich ist uns bewust das sämtliche Rechte an dem Hintergrund Hasbro zusteht und die Ähnlichkeiten mit Dungeons & Dragons und Star Wars (Saga Edition) sind vorhanden aufgrund dessen das diese Systeme uns am meisten zu dieser Arbeit Inspiriert haben. Deswegen möchte ich nochmals darauf hinweisen das dieses ein reines Fan Project ist ohne irgend einer Form von Comerziellen Anspruch. Aus diesem grund gleich vorneweg werden wir keine Form von Spenden oder der gleichen annehmen. Ebenfals haben wir darauf geachtet genügend eigene Ideen umzusetzen damit der Unterschied zwischen den oben genanten Systemen und Mazes&Mares klar ersichtlich ist.
Where do I start... ? Usually none of us is a person of many words (although the following book may suggest otherwise). Neither are we authors nor do we have the intention to make money with the sale of this rulebook. This book is just our way to say thank you to a wonderful community behind an amazing product. Of course we aknowledge the rights of the owners of our inspiration for this system. Hasbro for the background of the setting, Wizards of the Coast for the D&D basics and Star Wars Saga edition for their well balanced and tested rules systems. We want to point out that this is strictly a project by fans for fans without any commercial aspirations (If you guys from Hasbro/Wizards like it, produce it ;-)). We will not accept any kind of donations and the like. Also took heed of incorporating alot of own ideas and concepts to mto distinguish or system from the above mentioned ones to make Mazes and Mares a unique experience, true to the world of My Little Pony - Friendship Is Magic !

Dear Fellow Bronies and Roleplaying Enthusiasts,
After long months of planning, writing and testing, we proudly present our very own My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic fantasy roleplaying system: Mazes&Mares. (If you do not know what roleplaying is, please check out [...]). As both experienced roleplayers and avid bronies, we were inspired by My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and not least its amazing and creative fandom to become creative ourselves and create a fantasy roleplaying system based on the setting and lore to of Equestria. The result is this rulebook. Included in this book is everything needed for creating a pony roleplaying adventure, ranging from character creation and gameplay mechanics to background information on the world of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and tips for story telling. [Unzutreffendes bitte steichen^^ Bzw, bei Bedarf Dinge hinzufügen ;)] But please mind that, even though the curent version of Mazes&Mares is fully playable, this is a work in progress and there might be changes in later versions.
Also we would like to point out that this rulebook is simply a fan project – our way of saying thank you to a wonderful community. Neither are we professional authors, nor do we have the intention to make profit with this rulebook, which is the reason we cannot accept any donations. The roleplaying systems Dungeons & Dragons and Star Wars (Saga Edition) have served as a source of inspiration and we fully acknowledge the rights of Wizards of the Coast, the respective owner of these franchises, as well as Hasbro the respective owner of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. However we added alot of our own ideas in Mazes&Mares, so there is a clear difference to aforementioned roleplaying systems.
Last, but not least, we would to thank Ann-Christin Pfeifer for proofreading and giving creative input, Ricarda Pfeifer for her inspiring criticism, Mark Müller for his well-conceived ideas and all our friends and acquaintances, who supported us, while we were creating this system. A special mention goes to Martin Arlt, who introduced us to the brony fandom in the first place! We also say thank you to all of you readers for taking interest in our project and hope you enjoy creating new characters and adventures in the land of Equestria as much as we enjoyed creating the game.

When you play the My Little Pony Roleplaying Game, you create a unique fictional character that lives in the imaginations of you and your friends. One person in the game, the "Stablemaster" controls the creatures and other ponies who live in the world of Equestria. Through your characters, you and your friends face the challenges and explore the mysteries that your Stablemaster sets before you. Anything is possible in the My Little Pony Roleplaying Game. You can have your character try anything you can think of. If it sounds good and the dice fall in your favor, the action succeeds. The Basics section has more details. Now, get ready.
