Widar Wido "WWW" Winter - Programierer und Robotik-Geek; Widar-Wido "WWW" Winter; Hat in Marburg Mathe/Informatik studiert, ist blind und mag deswegen LISP. Hat nen Blindenhund unbekannter Rasse, der auf den namen "Hund" hört. (Technokrat)
Arbeit
Hatte einen Job in [1] bei einer Firma, die "Serverhostingadministrationssoftware für heterogene IT-Landschaften" herstellt. Vor kurzem wurd ihm vergoldet nahegelegt, den Hut zu nehmen (unterschiedliche Buisness Models, Spionagevorwurf (nicht beweisbar), etc.). Mit der Abfindung und den Aktienoptionen lies er das gemietete Firmengebäude seines Exarbeitgebers über einen Darmstäder Anwalt Kai Herbst kaufen, und mit einer Penthousewohnung Landwidi versehen. Die Dachbegrünung kommt noch. Die neue Firma Informative K-Nearest Neighbor, macht einen auf hochpreisiges Serverhosting mit 24/7 Wartung, dickstem Web 2.0 Browserinterface (aber sicher ;) ), one click web applications installation, diveres OSs als fertige Images auswählbar, bei Bedarf auch exotische CPU (Transmeta's mit selbstgestricktem Emulationscode für nicht x86 CPUs). Alles auf Sicherheit (Cryptoshit fordert viel Rechenleistung) und Uptime, nicht auf extreme Rechenleistung oder Speicherplatz getrimmt. Tatsächlich gibt es Kunden für diese Segment: Eine größerer Luxusjachtenkomplettdienstleister aus Hamburg (vermieten, verkaufen, mit/ohne Crew buchen, ausstatten, Urlaubtörns, Mietcrew, verschiffen von Jachten) schätz genauso wie NetJet den sorgfälltigen Umgang mit den wertvollen Kundendaten. Kürzliche Hackereinbrüche fanden zum Glück noch in der Testphase des neuen Server statt und führten zu keinem Datendiebstahl oder schlimmerem.
Im Moment geht ein Groupwaresystem in die öffentliche Betaphase, das wie alle Produkte des Hauses sehr starke Krypto verwendet, um Datendiebstählen vor zu beugen und andere Sicherheitsbedenken zu zerstreuen. Bei Nerds ist ein Theme beliebt, der ein paar Schlüsselwörter austauscht (Task -> Quest, Adressen -> Locations, Gemeinsame Dateien -> Treasure List, und so ähnlich).

- Modellflug
- Blimb III: Modellflug ganz entspannt mit einem Zeppelin. Es fährt durch die Luft, könnte dank Solarzellen (in Hamburg gemoddet) ewig operieren, und hat die volle Funkphalanx an Bord. GPS, GSM, GPRS, EDGE, UMTS, WiFi, WiMax, WLAN, Bluetooth, RFID, CB-Funk, IrDA. Teils mit Richtantenne, aber alles gleichzeitig mit hoher Leistung zieht ganz schön an den Akkus.
- WoW
- WoW Blind Client: Aus einer Witzidee ("Selbst nen Bilder könnte besser Tanken") wurd mit nen bischen Hardware und ein paar Mannwochen gecode ein hauptsächlich CLI basierter WoW Client gebastelt. Sinnvolle Listensortierung (nähste Aggro ganz oben, usw), hunderten von Shortcuts und einer 3D-Soundausgabe der Positionen von Freund und Feind machen ein leicht gehandicaptes WoW zoggen troz Blindheit möglich.
- WoW Blind Server: Heist nur Blind, ist aber eigentlich nen WoW Shards Server. Noch sehr Beta.
